In the Spanish city of Kinto (Aragon) in the building of the church Asuncion, an unusual exposition - the museum of mummies. All mummies were discovered right there, during the excavations of the church, and they were preserved naturally, without human intervention.
In 2011, during the archeological excavations in Quinto, under the church, more than a thousand human remains were found buried in the 18th and 19th centuries. 15 of them, for unknown reasons, mummified. Experts associate this with soil conditions and a stable temperature regime in Quinto throughout the year.
The Church of Asuncion itself is a historical and cultural monument, and for the last three years a new museum has been set up here. In addition to the mummies, the exhibition shows well-preserved finds in the same graves: clothes, shoes, jewelry and other items.
