The British director, known for his work on the films "Around the World in 80 Days" and "Logan's Escape," Michael Anderson died at the age of 98. This is reported by UNN with reference to Deadline.

As described in the director's family, Anderson died in his house because of heart disease on April 25.

The director began his career in the 1930s as an actor. Subsequently, he successfully retrained in the director.



Determining in the career of the director was the film "Around the World in 80 days" in 1956. It is based on the novel of the French writer Jules Verne. The picture won five awards, "Oscar".

Anderson himself was nominated for an Oscar for Best Director, but gave way to George Stevens with his film "The Giant".

Among the most famous Anderson films are also the 1955 tape "Destroyers of dams" about World War II and the fantastic picture of 1976 "The Logan's Escape", which won an Oscar for Best Special Effects.
