On the eve of the release of the new cartoon Wes Anderson "Island of Dogs" on the big screens, the creators of the picture published a four-minute video about the process of work on the project. "Island of Dogs" is a cartoon made in the technique of stop-motion animation with minimal use of computer graphics: almost everything that the viewer sees on the screen is mock-ups and dolls, which were photographed for each scene.

In the video, experts told about the main difficulties encountered. They, for example, needed to convey the facial expressions and articulation of the characters in such a way as to try to combine them with the voice acting, and one of the most complex elements of the animation was the work on the plasticity and consistency of character movements. "Our job is to turn pieces of metal, rubber and silicone - all these inanimate objects - into something new, to try to breathe life into them," says one of the animators.

"Island of Dogs" tells the story of a 12-year-old boy who goes to the Dog Island to find his dog named Rex. The characters were voiced by famous Hollywood actors, including Bill Murray, Bryan Cranston, Edward Norton, Scarlett Johansson and Tilda Swinton. Cartoon - the first project of Wes Anderson from 2014, when his painting "Hotel Grand Budapest" came out.
