The sad news about the event was reported by journalist Susanna Alperin, referring to friends in Germany who communicate with the director's family. At the moment, nothing is known about the cause of death.

Note that the Soviet director created a series of cartoons about the adventures of the cat Leopold in the script of Arkady Hight. For the creation of the "Adventures of the Cat Leopold" the author's group in 1985 was awarded the State Prize of the USSR.

Also, Anatoly Reznikova is known for such cartoons as the Straw Bull, Robinson Kuzya, Kopeika, and the director was brought to the film by Razboy, two cowboys (a parody of the western with the participation of Andrei Mironov, who voiced all the characters) and a series of films about the adventures of the cat Leopold on the scenarios Arcadia.

In the last years of his life Anatoly Reznikov together with the Italians filmed "The New Adventures of the Cat Leopold". 13 out of 26 series were already ready. All the characters in the new animated series were voiced by Alexander Kalyagin.
