As reported by Oxu. Az in the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan, antique coins were accidentally discovered during the economic work and transferred to the collection points of scrap metal. According to the head of the archeology department of the Lankaran regional scientific center of ANAS Mais Jafarov, after the purification it turned out that these are copper coins from the period of Atabekov and Seldzhu Sultanate. According to M. Jafarova, considering the importance of the findings, for the first time a numismatic map of the south-western zone will be compiled, and a catalog of found coins will be created, which will be presented to the scientific community. In addition, in the southern region of the country is planned to open a museum of numismatics.
