This is reported by Russian media with reference to the newspaper Scotsman.

According to the publication, the picture was found by British journalist and art critic Bendor Grosvenor in the collection of the Pollock House Museum in Glasgow.

Previously it was believed that the picture was only a copy of the original portrait of the Duke of Buckingham George Villiers, written by Rubens in the 17th century.

A study conducted by Grosvenor showed that Rubens' proprietary techniques were hidden under layers of dirt and later painted.

"We are pleased to provide the opportunity for as many people as possible to see the masterpiece of Rubens," - quotes the publication of the representative of the Museum of Glasgow David McDonald.

It is reported that the authenticity of the picture also confirmed the experts of the museum "House of Rubens" in Belgium. The cost of the picture, according to the museum, can be tens of millions of pounds.
