The return of the canvas was reported by the Minister of Cultural Heritage, Cultural Activities and Tourism of Italy, Dario Francescini. "Madonna with the saints John the Evangelist and Gregory the Miracle-Worker" of the Italian painter of the Bologna school Guercino was found in February 2017 thanks to the Moroccan collector, whom the kidnappers tried to sell the painting.

The painting was kept for almost five centuries in the Modena Church of St. Vincenzo. Three suspects in the theft of the picture have already been arrested. "Madonna" is already sent to Rome, where it will be cleaned in special art workshops.
