Judge of the Madrid court Mar del Mar Crespo decided to exhume the remains of the artist Salvador Dali for DNA examination. The decision was made at the suit of Maria Pilar Abel Martinez, who tries to prove that she is the biological daughter of Dali.

This decision was made, because after the artist there were no biological samples on which it would be possible to analyze. According to lawyer Abel Enrique Blankes, exhumation can be held as early as July.

Pilar Abel seeks to be recognized as Dali's daughter, since 2007. According to the applicant, the mother told her about the secret relationship with the artist in 1955, a year before the birth of Abel.

The claim against the Ministry of Finance and the Gala and Salvador Dali Foundation was filed in 2015.

In the case of a positive test result, Abel will be able to claim the name Dali, as well as the copyrights to his work.

Representatives of the Gala and Salvador Dali Foundation have not yet commented on the court's decision.

Salvador Dali died in Figueres in 1989 at the age of 84 years. He created more than one and a half thousand paintings, illustrations and sculptures and is one of the most famous representatives of surrealism.
