Vikings and Rusichi will battle in the largest in the history of Russian reconstruction battle on the project of a new format, combining the historical festival of deep immersion and the concert of the world famous band Wardruna. On July 15, more than two thousand reconstructors from all over Russia will visit the Kolomenskoe museum-reserve.

Festival "The Battle of a thousand swords". Ragnarok "took its start on" Times and epochs-2016 ", in order to present in the improved version the early Middle Ages (IX-XI centuries) in 2017. This is the time of the birth of the ancient Russian state, it is also known as the Viking Age. The festival is held in the mysterious Dyakovo settlement, where there was the oldest known settlement on the territory of Moscow.

The main subject is the confrontation between the prince of Rusich and the king of Vikings. Behind each of them will be squads, where there will be a place for Varangians, Slavs, Balts, and Finno-Ugrians. Intermediaries will be cunning Byzantine nobles who will walk with the embassy.

Druzhinnikov will be serviced by military workshops: engineers will build siege weapons, blacksmiths will forge swords and arrowheads, ship builders will destroy rooks. All day the squads and fighters will compete in the lunar, kopeynyh, fencing tournaments, and the result will be a large-scale battle, which called the festival. This battle will be the largest in the history of the Russian reconstruction of the Viking Age.

In the evening for guests and participants will perform the legendary Norwegian folk band Wardruna, famous for the soundtrack to the series "Vikings".

The Norwegians are preparing a special program for the festival, which will be played on an unprecedented floating stage on the Moscow River.

"Battle of a thousand swords" is a pilot project: for the first time in Russia the festival of historical reconstruction and the performance of world-class stars. There will not be a traditional timetable, because in the Middle Ages there were not hours. This will help guests to immerse themselves in the era and see the life of the soldiers in a natural authentic setting.
