The first "green" monument in the history of Italy, protected by the Ministry of Cultural Heritage of Italy, appeared in Tuscany. In fact, he stood here for more than 370 years, however, after numerous acts of vandalism, he often risked dying, what was particularly worried about by the local people and authorities, given the age of this tree.

This is a huge oak-long-liver, growing in the Val d'Orcia, in the province of Siena, writes Italy in Russian.

Recently, the oak often suffers from the disorder of tourists: the last serious act of vandalism occurred on August 15, 2014, when, according to the stories of local residents, a group of tourists decided to have fun while climbing a tree. As a result, due to pressure, the trunk of the oak cracked.

Immediately after the incident, the local authorities appealed to the Ministry of Cultural Heritage to recognize the oak as a "green monument" of Italy.
