The report says that the main location for the Day of Kiev was identified Sofia Square. The official opening is scheduled for May 27, 17:00, where the mayor of Kiev Vitali Klitschko and the city's honored residents will participate.

However, the holding of events in Sofia will begin already on May 25, where the days of Ukrainian, Latin American dance, tango and waltz are planned. And already on May 24 there will be a ceremony of awarding the "Kiev" award, dedicated to artists.

As the deputy chairman of the KSCA noted, May 27 at Lviv Square will premiere the play "Yaroslavna. The Queen of France ". Also on Saturday and Sunday there will be an opera concert "Four Queens", a video opera "Anna Yaroslavna", a film opera "Yaroslav the Wise" and the festival "Anna de Kiev Fest".

It is also reported that in all recreation parks of the left and right banks of Kiev, artistic and cultural programs.

Also for the weekend is planned a festival of "Peoples of Podol", which will be held on the Kontraktova Square. On the fest there will be held traditional fairs, master classes, cultural and artistic program, which will emphasize the peculiarity and specificity of Podol.

Within the framework of the celebration of the City Day in the capital, two sporting events will take place: the International Euromarathon, where there will be approximately three thousand participants and a cycling race, as well as the 25th anniversary "Riding under the chestnuts". All events are also planned for May 27-28.

Earlier, URA-Inform reported that about 370 thousand hryvnias were spent from the local Kyiv budget for organizing the celebration of the City Day.
