The American television channel Showtime on May 21 showed the first two episodes of the new third season of the cult series "Twin Peaks".

Next week will also be shown at once two series, and then episodes will be published with traditional periodicity once a week, said channel president David Nevins. Total in the new "Twin Pix" will be 18 series. The script, as before, was written by David Lynch and Mark Frost.

One of the first who confirmed participation in the new shootings was Kyle McClachan, who played agent Dale Cooper. In addition to him from the old cast in the new season will also be Cheryl Lee, who played Laura Palmer, Sherilin Fenn (in the series - Audrey Horn), David Lynch himself, David Duchovny and others. The general cast of the new season is 217 actors, 37 of them played in the first seasons. Especially it can be noted that in the new "Twin Pix" also starred Monica Bellucci, Naomi Watts, Tim Roth, Robert Nepper, Ashley Judd, Amanda Seyfried, James Belushi.

"Twin Peaks" was broadcast on the American channel ABC from April 8, 1990 to June 10, 1991. Premiere then collected from the television screens 8.15 million viewers.

The last series of "Twin Pix" ended with the words of Laura Palmer: "See you in 25 years".

The shooting was a little delayed, and it took a little longer than 25 years, since the release of the last series. About the new season so far little is known: the events will unfold in the present tense, and the continuation is tied to the script of the full-length prequel "Twin Peaks: Through the Fire". It dealt with the last seven days of Laura Palmer's life, as well as the murder of another schoolgirl at that time.
