Last year, after returning from the big tour, the band celebrated its 25th anniversary. On the eve of his arrival in Kiev, the producer of the ensemble "Batumi" Irakli Shapatava said that their collective is often compared with another Georgian ensemble - Sukhishvili, but they do not see in them their competitors. "We respect Sukhishvili, but never considered them our competitors. Moreover, we are friends, often cross on tour, we perform periodic in some concerts, but each of us has our own way. It's enough to see "Batumi" alive once to see this, "Irakli stressed..

In the capital, the ensemble will come in the composition of 43 artists and will bring a hundred expensive author's costumes, which could hardly be accommodated in 37 suitcases. Plastic artists will practically float above the stage in the dance, it is no accident that for one performance each of the ballet loses several kilograms.

According to the producer of "Batumi", future artists begin to learn the dance from the very childhood. "For a few years the guys have been studying at our dance studio, their whole life is being rehearsed, but thanks to this, only the fans of their cause remain with us. In the big family "Batumi" there are no former artists. If the dancer stops dancing, he goes to the administrative staff, is engaged in staging a repertoire ... Girls often go to sewing shops to sew costumes, but no one leaves "Batumi".

By the way, I myself also danced in the ensemble, but at 33 I left the ballet, now I am engaged in performances by the troupe. I think, in this field I will bring my own collective much more useful, "- concluded the producer of" Batumi ".
