Famous singer Tina Karol recorded a video message to Ukrainians after being accused of being “out of touch with reality” because of a song about the lack of electricity. The artist admitted that her attempt to support people during blackouts through the track “We have no light, but we have goodness” was unsuccessful and painful for many.
In a video published on January 20, Karol noted that she wanted to pick up a popular trend on TikTok and unite people, but instead “united everyone against herself.”. She asked for forgiveness from everyone who was offended by the song.
The singer categorically rejected rumors that the composition is a “manual from the authorities”. Tina explained that she heard this song performed by Daniil Gorodetsky, who wrote it back in 2022 for his own wedding, and decided to cover it with good intentions. The artist assured that she also experiences difficulties, and sometimes she also lacks strength, warmth and light. And that video was an attempt to share the positive that saves her.
" I'm Tina Karol. This is my video apology message. Apologies to all those who were offended by this song.. We have no light, we have no water, we have nothing, and we have no good.. They write that I am out of context. I am in the context directly as much as possible. On the contrary, I wanted to unite everyone with a composition - an excerpt from TikTok, but I united everyone against me. It turned out to be such a meme. Nothing. Forgive me please. Although a painful meme for me. This is not an order, this is not a manual from the authorities, I do not carry out any orders. I saw a guy’s song and decided to cover it, because all my life I’ve been supporting people with creativity. And this time it was the same, only with good intentions.
I wanted to sing that we don’t have nichrome, but we only have you and me. At this time, only positive thoughts save me, I wanted to share them somehow. I also miss warmth, kindness and sometimes strength. I apologize to anyone who was offended by this video.. Thanks everyone for your support. For those who realized that the song is not the culprit of all troubles. For me personally this dialogue is very important. Thanks for listening. Always, as it was, yours,” Karol said in the video.
