Igor Slavinsky passed away at the age of 67. Comrades of the director and teacher note that to the untimely death of the master and one of the most notable figures of the Theater on Podol, no one was not ready.
After all, it would seem, most recently - in June 2018, the director was awarded the title of People's Artist of Ukraine. The death of the director was reported by theater critic Oleg Vergelis.
Igor Slavinsky was one of the main directors at the Theater in Podol. Under his leadership were staged performances "Blue Car" and "Sherry-brandy", as well as a number of productions that have been successfully performed on the stage of the theater for more than twenty years. In particular, the performance "The Blue Car" is on the stage since 1998, in the title role - the famous actor Aleksey Vertinsky.
In addition, Slavinsky was not only a director, but also an actor in the theater in Podol, playing in the play "The Night of Miracles" by Shakespeare, Salieri in "Feast during the Plague," as well as in 50 films and serials - "The Nine Lives of Nestor Makhno" "In Paris!", "Milkmaid from Khatsapetovka-3", "Bird in a cage".
The director's health problems began in the early 2000s, in 2005 he underwent heart surgery, during which he was put an artificial valve. After that he regularly lay in the hospital, was treated.
"It's hard for me to say that the main thing. But now I'm crazy about directing.
Even stopped playing in the performances of our theater, because these are two different professions: an actor and a director. There were performances in my practice where I combined this, that is, I played in my own productions. It takes too much effort. Because you need to disconnect from yourself as an actor: to put on a play. And you have to turn yourself off as a director on stage when you're playing, because you have to be an actor, not to direct yourself around ". This is reported by "Arguments and Facts Ukraine".
