British musician Elton John announced the end of touring after 50 years on stage. The last series of performances will be the One Last World tour, which will begin in September 2018.
This was announced at a special press conference hosted by the YouTube company, broadcast simultaneously in London and New York.
According to Sir Elton John, his life priorities have changed, and in the first place are now the family and children.
Last year, Sir Elton spent two days in intensive care and more than a week in the hospital. As his managers then announced, the cause was a potentially fatal bacterial infection that he received during a tour of Latin America.
Nevertheless, in 2017, Elton John starred in the role of himself in the comic thriller "Kingsman: The Golden Ring" and played 87 concerts. The musician performed in Europe, Australia and in the concert hall of the entertainment complex Caesar Palace in Las Vegas, where he has been a regular performer for six years and conducts his show The Million Dollar Piano.
On the personal website of the singer, his performances in Las Vegas are scheduled until May 19, and on June 30 and July 1, 2018, his two concerts are planned at the Georgian Black Sea resort of Shekvetili.
It is known that Elton John is working on a musical on the film "The Devil Wears Prada" and a remake of the animated film "The Lion King", the release of which is scheduled for 2019.
Elton John first began performing in the mid-1960s with his band Bluesology, and his first foreign tour began with Los Angeles, where he acted as a solo artist in 1970.
During his career, Sir Elton gave more than 4,000 concerts in more than 80 countries around the world. He has 31 platinum and 38 gold albums. His 1997 single Candle in the Wind became the most sold in the history of the music industry. This is reported by the BBC Ukrainian Service.
