From 6 to 14 October 2017 in one of the oldest cinemas in Europe "Odyssey" and the cinema hall of the Palace of Europe in Strasbourg for the first time there will be screenings of the week of Ukrainian cinema.
The Permanent Mission of Ukraine to the Council of Europe and the State Agency of Ukraine for Cinema in cooperation with the City Hall of Strasbourg organized the first week of Ukrainian cinema in the capital of Alsace (France) "Focus on Ukraine - Focus sur l'Ukraine".
Residents of Strasbourg, diplomats from 47 member states of the Council of Europe, staff of the secretariat and bodies of the Council of Europe, as well as institutions of the European Union will be able to watch the films "Another's prayer" by Ahtem Seitablayev; "Chervony" Zaza Buladze, "Watchtower" Yuri Kovalyov, "Native" Vitaly Mansky and a selection of short films. Classics of Ukrainian cinema will be represented by the film "White Bird with a Black Mark" by Yuri Ilenko.
Within the framework of the Week there will also be meetings of the Goskino leadership with representatives of the European Film Production Support Fund Eurimages, the film industry of France and the Ukrainian community of Alsace. There will be discussions of the demonstrated films and the prospects for the development of Ukrainian cinema as a component of the European cultural space. In the context of the screening of films "Alien Prayer" and "Native", attention will be drawn to Russian aggression against Ukraine in the Crimea and the Donbass.
