Ukraine will debut at the International Film Festival in Toronto

Today in Toronto 42 International Film Festival starts, at which this year Ukraine will be represented for the first time.

The festival will open Swedish sports drama "Borg / McEnroe" about the confrontation between two legendary tennis players - Swede Bjorn Borg and American John McEnroe on the courts of Wimbledon. The film was shot by the Danish director Janus Metz Pedersen, and the main roles in it were played by Sverrir Goodnason and Shia LaBeouf.

The main award of the film festival in Toronto is traditionally the Audience Award. Films will be presented in a number of programs and sections, and the jury composed of directors Vim Wenders (Germany), Malgojata Shumovskaya (Poland) and Chen Kaighe (China) will work only in one of them - the "Platform" section.

This year for the first time at the International Film Festival in Toronto will be presented and Ukraine. Within the framework of the film festival the national stand of Ukraine will work and the Days of Ukrainian Cinema will be held.

In particular, according to the general director of the company "Arthouse Traffic", which is the organizer of the Days of Ukrainian cinema in Toronto, Denis Ivanov, the program of the Days from September 8 to 10 will show the various films made recently in Ukraine.

These are the newest releases that the Ukrainian audience saw - DZIDZIO Contrabass and Chervonyi, and the film The Travelers Arkady Nepitalyuk, which will be released at the end of September, and Taras Tkachenko's Nest of Turtles, and festival hits - School No.3 and "Process" about Oleg Sentsov, since it is very important to talk about him on different venues. Information about Sentsov will also be distributed on the Ukrainian stand, which will work from 7 to 17 September.
