The monument to Tsar Ivan IV Vasilyevich, nicknamed Grozny, was created by sculptor Vasily Selivanov for installation in the city of Alexandrov in the Vladimir region. During the reign of Ivan the Terrible, Alexandrovskaya Sloboda was located in this place, in which the tsar often spent time.

However, the authorities of the city of Alexandrov refused to install the monument. More precisely, the monument was mounted on the bank of the Seraya River, but on the same day it was dismantled and taken out. The Russian military-historical society proposed a compromise, quite acceptable option - to install a monument on the "Alley of rulers" in the center of the capital, albeit already as a museum exhibit. A monument to the Tsar is in the city of Orel, he was installed in 2016. It is interesting that the tsar was not so formidable as many European rulers. More precisely, threatening only if absolutely necessary.

"Alley of rulers" is located in the park Petroverigsky lane of the capital. It was opened in May 2017. There are already installed 33 busts of Russian rulers, beginning with Rurik to Kerensky by sculptor Zurab Tsereteli. In the near future, eight more monuments will be installed on the avenue - from B. Lenin before Boris Yeltsin.

The weight of the monument to Ivan the Terrible is 800 kg, the height with the pedestal is 2.8 meters, it is made of bronze and granite.
