People's Artist of the USSR Alexei Batalov died at the age of 89 in Moscow.
The Batalov family confirmed his death. "Yes, we confirm, Alexey Vladimirovich died tonight," the actor was told in the family of the actor. Earlier, Batalov's wife told that he was in hospital for two months after a fracture of his leg, and later was transferred to a rehabilitation center.
Batalov was born in 1928 in a theater family. In the cinema, he made his debut in 1944, and in 1950 he graduated from the Moscow Art Theater School. The actor starred in more than 40 films, one of his most famous roles - Gosha in Vladimir Menshov's film "Moscow does not believe in tears". Batalov also took part in radio plays and voiced cartoons.
