Leader of the Soundgarden group Chris Cornell died in the US at the age of 52, said spokesman Brian Bamber.
Cornell is also known as the vocalist of the band Audioslave. In 2006, he performed the main track for the James Bond film "Casino Royale".
In the message, Bambert noted that death was "sudden and unexpected". Relatives of the deceased singer cooperate with medical experts to establish the cause of death, and ask media representatives not to interfere.
Leader Soundgarden died at night in Detroit, where he gave a concert the day before. The band planned to give some more concerts this month. As a soloist, he recorded four studio albums, the last of which - Higher Truth - in 2015. This is reported by the BBC Ukrainian Service.
