Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova called the new sanctions of the European Union "subversive policies directed against the inhabitants of the Crimea". This is reported by Izvestiya. According to her, the EU encourages those who worked on the energy blockade of the Crimean peninsula, and also pursues civil infrastructure builders.

Earlier, the EU imposed sanctions against six Russian companies that participated in the construction of the Crimean bridge. As reported on July 31 in the Official Journal of the European Union, this number includes the Institute "Giprostroymost", "Mostotrest", WAD, "Stroygazmontazh", "Stroygazmontazh-Most" and shipyard "Zaliv". Restrictions include the freezing of all assets of these organizations on the territory of the EU, as well as a ban on individuals and legal entities of the European Union to lend to these companies.
