President of the Chechen Republic Ramzan Kadyrov submitted to the regional parliament a draft law amending the Constitution of the Russian Federation. The amendments will allow Vladimir Putin to remain in power until 2030. According to the text of the document published on the website of the republican parliament, the amendments consist in the fact that one person will be able to run for the presidency not two, but three times in a row.

In this case, Vladimir Putin, whose powers expire in 2024, in the event of another victory in the election, will remain in power until 2030, reports Moskovsky Komsomolets.

On May 17, the Chechen parliament will consider the bill and will most likely accept it. After that, amendments to the constitution will be sent to the State Duma.

According to Ramzan Kadyrov, the amendments are adopted "in the interests of the people". According to him, "there is no alternative to Putin", so the proposal "does not detract from the democratic foundations of the state".
