Sources in the Ministry of Transport told Izvestia that the ministry is considering the possibility of replacing the transport tax for cars with environmental, taking into account the emissions of carbon dioxide.
Representatives of the transport department said that the ministry will prepare a rationale for the expediency of tax replacement before the end of the year.
As you know, now the amount of transport tax for cars is calculated taking into account regional rates, engine power, brand and model of the car, the year of its release, the time of ownership of the vehicle. It is noted that when replacing the environmental fee for calculating the tax, only the design parameters of the car for carbon dioxide emissions specified in the technical passport (PTS) will be used,. The environmental fee also does not provide for regional differentiation.
