Zakharova responded to Zhirinovsky's appeal to replace the Russian Foreign Minister

Izvestia writes that the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, commented on Vladimir Zhirinovsky's proposal to replace the head of the diplomatic department with "tougher", as the chairman of the LDPR, the leader.



The head of the Information and Press Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry reminded that Zhirinovsky was not the first to say this. Zakharova replied to Izvestia: "Do not comment". A head of the All-Russian Public Opinion Research Center Valery Fyodorov called the words of politics "pre-election PR".

Sergei Lavrov, who heads the Russian Foreign Ministry since March 2004, according to public opinion polls, remains one of the most popular ministers in Russia. In early 2017, the diplomat topped the rating of social media mentioning.
