On the website of the Cabinet of Ministers, a document has been published, from which it follows that the government approved the rules for providing financial support to the regions from the Fund for Assistance in Reforming Housing and Communal Services for the Modernization of Public Utilities Infrastructure,.

It is reported that for the preparation of projects for the modernization of public (federal, municipal) systems of communal infrastructure (heat, water, sanitation, sewage treatment and solid municipal waste management), it will be possible to get financial support.

In addition, one can even count on co-financing the interest rate on loans and (or) bond loans attracted by resource-supplying organizations for the implementation of such projects. It is specified that the money can be obtained on the basis of an agreement between the subject of the Federation, the Ministry of Construction of Russia and the Fund.

It is assumed that such support should stimulate regions to attract private investment in municipal infrastructure modernization projects. In addition, it will provide investors with low rates (no higher than five percent) of borrowed funds for the implementation of these projects.
