Miralam Jalalov, the chief medical officer of the Ministry of Emergency and First Aid of Azerbaijan, said that people were injured in an explosion at an arms depot in Azerbaijan, Izvestia reports.. He added that ten ambulances left for the scene, but they can not pass because of the continuing explosions.
RIA Novosti quoted Jalalov as saying:
"At the moment, ten ambulances are brought to the scene of the explosion, but they can not drive to the scene of the incident because of the continuing explosions".
He also noted that, if necessary, additional ambulances will be brought in. It is noted that people are evacuated from nearby territories, and the highway "Baku - the border of Russia" is closed.
As previously reported, in late July a powerful explosion occurred at the weapons factory in the Azerbaijani city of Shirvan.
