Russia will give a loan to Belarus

From the documents published on the official Internet portal of legal information it follows that an agreement was concluded between the governments of the Russian Federation and Belarus, according to which Russia will issue a loan to Belarus for the amount of $ 700 million.

The text of the agreement says: "The Russian side gives the Belarusian side in 2017 a state financial loan in the amount of $ 700 (seven hundred) million".

It is specified that the loan will be provided in Russian rubles. At the same time, the debt will be recorded in US dollars.

Russia will provide Belarus with a loan within 15 days of the entry into force of the agreement.

The Belarusian side will start paying the loan from April 15, 2018. Payments will be made annually for ten years.

This loan is issued to Belarus by the Ministry of Finance of Russia following the results of the coordination of this issue with the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Economic Development and the State Corporation "Bank for Development and Foreign Economic Affairs" (Vnesheconombank).
