Syria urged the UN Security Council to dissolve an international coalition led by the United States

A letter from the Syrian Permanent Mission to the UN sent to the Secretary General and the UN Security Council states that the Syrian government, in an address to the UN Security Council, called for the dissolution of the international coalition operating in the country led by the United States, accusing it of crimes and assisting terrorist groups, News".

Damascus urged the countries that are members of the coalition to "distance themselves from the crimes committed by this coalition on their behalf, and immediately disband it".

The Permanent Representative of the Syrian Arab Republic, Bashar Jaafari, stressed that the actions of the international coalition are in favor of "terrorist groups that launched a campaign of terror and murders against the Syrian people". He also recalled that members of the coalition officially recognized the death of civilians as a result of "actions committed under the pretext of combating terrorism".

Jaafari, referring to the coalition and the UN, referred to Security Council resolutions that refer to "the prohibition on all parties to attack civilians, hospitals, schools and the goods of medical and food aid".
