RIA Novosti reports that the Russian Foreign Ministry commented on the incident with the detention and deportation from Ukraine by the Kiev authorities of VGTRK correspondent Tamara Nersesyan, calling these actions "a gross violation of the rights of Russian journalists".
As it became known, the journalist of the VGTRK Tamara Nersesyan was detained by the SBU in Kiev on August 14, after many hours of interrogation she was "taken to the Russian-Ukrainian border and forced to leave the country on foot".
The Department of Information and Press of the Russian Foreign Ministry stressed: "Official Kyiv continues its policy of obstructing the activities of the media and methodically replenishes the list of foreign journalists who are prohibited from entering the territory of Ukraine".
The diplomat added:
"We express indignation at the gross violation of the rights of Russian journalists and demand from the official Kiev strict observance of international obligations in the field of media freedom and ensuring their security".
