Medvedev and Nazarbayev discussed trade and economic relations

RIA Novosti reported that Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev discussed trade and economic issues with Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev.

The bilateral meeting took place before the meeting of the Eurasian intergovernmental council, which today, August 14, will be held in Astana.

Medvedev and Nazarbayev discussed the state of trade and economic cooperation between Russia and Kazakhstan, as well as further prospects for the development of bilateral relations.

Press Service of the President of Kazakhstan said that Nazarbayev Medvedev thanked for the opportunity to discuss topical issues of cooperation within the Community and expressed hope for further development of bilateral relations between Kazakhstan and Russia.

The Chairman of the Government of Russia, whose words are quoted in the press service's message, said: "We rejoice at the successes of friendly Kazakhstan in connection with the exhibition" Expo-2017 ". This is indeed a great event for you, and in general for our union. Today we are discussing current economic issues within the framework of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council.

I want to thank you for the excellent working conditions and express the hope that our bilateral relations will develop as well and steadily as it was in recent years ".

It is noted that in the near future the heads of the governments of the EurAsEC member states will meet at the meeting of the council, which will first be held in a narrow composition, then members of delegations will join them.

Before the meeting Nazarbayev greeted all the participants of the council and wished them fruitful work.
