Izvestia reports that the police of Turkey detained a Russian who allegedly intended to shoot down an American aircraft and is linked to a terrorist group called "Islamic State".

As it became known, the Russian Renat Bakiyev was arrested during reconnaissance near the Incirlik airbase. It states that as evidence linking the men to the militants, the Turkish authorities have given his correspondence in the Telegram, where they discussed plans about buying a drone attack on a US military plane.

The Haberturk television channel specifies that in case of failure of the attack with the drone, Bakiyev was going to arrange a terrorist act in the place where the senior American officers meet.

In addition, it became known that the Russians had already been deported from Turkey for attempting to illegally cross the border with Syria, but Bakiyev again managed to enter the country. The media also note that the man speaks Turkish, Russian, English and Arabic fluently.

At the moment, the Russian embassy in Turkey finds out all the circumstances of his detention.

Press-attache of the Embassy Irina Kasimova said: "Today, the Turkish media reported on the detention of Russian citizen Renat Bakiyev in Turkey on suspicion, as far as we can judge, in terrorist activities. The Russian embassy is carrying out the necessary work to clarify this information and clarify the circumstances of the case ".

Bakiyev was interrogated for 13 days. August 10, he must be brought to trial.
