The Daily Mail reported that police officers from the Netherlands and Belgium conducted raids in the investigation of the use of harmful pesticide in poultry farming.

A representative of the prosecutor's office said that the raids were conducted in both countries associated with a company that allegedly used fipronil, as well as its potential suppliers.

As reported by the European Agency for Food Safety, sandwiches and other chilled products were contaminated.

It is noted that more than 700,000 eggs containing pesticides could have been brought to the UK from Dutch farms.

Recall, millions of chicken eggs were withdrawn from European stores because of the likely containment of fipronil - a pesticide that is dangerous to humans.
