Rossiyskaya Gazeta reports that in the international exercise Balex Delta-2017, which will take place in the Russian waters of the Baltic Sea, marine rescuers from Russia, Denmark, Finland, Poland and Sweden will take part..

The information department of the Baltic Sea Fleet press service reported that according to the plan of the exercise as a result of the accident on an oil platform located on the Baltic Sea shelf, a fire broke out and several thousand tons of oil products spilled. Rescuers have to find in the water of conditioned casualties and evacuate them to medical institutions.

Today, August 8, there is a coastal phase of the exercise - gathering and instructing participants.

After this, the ships along the Kaliningrad Sea Canal will proceed to the raid of Baltiysk so that tomorrow, on August 9, they will begin practical work at sea.

It is noted that in the active phase of the Balex Delta-2017, nine specialized vessels and three helicopters from Russia, three specialized oil spill response vessels from Denmark and one from Finland, Poland and Sweden. In particular, a rescue tug SB-921, a Ka-27 naval aviation helicopter, a fire boat and a chemical reconnaissance boat of the Baltic Fleet.
