The Hill reports that US Senator John McCain considered the concern of US President Donald Trump about the new anti-Russian sanctions inappropriate.

The publication quotes the politician as saying: "The concern voiced in his statement by the president in connection with the signing of the law (on sanctions), should hardly surprise, but it is inappropriate".

As previously reported, the day before the head of the White House signed a law on sanctions against a number of countries, including Russia, adopted earlier by the senate. However, while Trump criticized the document. He stated that he was contrary to the constitution. He pointed out that the president's exclusive authority to recognize foreign governments was being violated, and Congress was able to amend laws bypassing the constitutional process.

It is specified that the sanctions relate primarily to the banking sector - American banks and private individuals are prohibited from lending to Russian banks for a period exceeding 14 days (previously 90), the term for financing oil and gas companies.

In turn, the Russian side decided to send over 700 US diplomats and closed their access to the dacha in Serebryany Bor and warehouses on Dorozhnaya Street.

Recall, Senator John McCain returned to work after a serious illness - he was diagnosed with a malignant tumor and had an operation to remove it. President Donald Trump wished a speedy recovery policy and conveyed words of support to his relatives.
