RIA Novosti reports that during a speech on the occasion of the 73rd anniversary of the Warsaw Uprising, Poland's Defense Minister Antoni Macherevich accused the USSR of conspiring with Nazi Germany, whose goal, he said, was the destruction of the Poles.

When speaking at the Pilsudski Square in the capital, Makretsich declared: "The history of the last 80 years would have looked different if this unprecedented generation of independent Poland had not been so badly exterminated as it was due to the criminal German and Soviet machinations. Warsaw would also look different, "his words are broadcast by local media.

The minister expressed the opinion that the main "motor of the struggle" during the Warsaw uprising in 1944 was the desire to restore the "independent, national Polish state". Makherevich believes: "This was an idea that united all Warsawers and Poles who opposed the German and Soviet barbarism.

They had to defeat simultaneously two enemies who conspired against the existence of the Polish people ".

He said that "this part of history began with the conclusion of the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact," and the next stage was "a red infection and Soviet troops waiting until Warsaw is exterminated by German executioners until the Volsky massacre is committed". According to Polish historians, during the Warsaw Uprising in the capital Volya region, between 30 and 75 thousand people were killed.
