Izvestia reports that Anatoly Golomolzin, Deputy Head of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) of Russia, said his department initiated proceedings against operators from the Big Four due to monopolistically high prices in national roaming.

He also noted that the FAS hopes for the complete cancellation of roaming in the Russian Federation before the first quarter of 2018.

As reported, at the end of June this year, deputies from the faction "Fair Russia" led by its leader Sergei Mironov brought to the State Duma a bill on the abolition of national roaming.

It is reported that the document amends Article 54 of the Federal Law "On Communications" and offers operators to provide communication services in the territory of Russia at a single tariff for the respective operator. New regulations may enter into force on January 1, 2018.
