The Politico edition reported on July 23 that members of the Republican Party in the House of Representatives and at least one member of the presidential administration appealed to US Treasury Secretary Stephen Mnuchin to initiate an investigation into possible financing by the Russian side of environmentalists who oppose the development of shale oil and the use of Fracturing technology.

According to the publication, at the end of June this year, the head of the Committee on Science of the House of Representatives, Lamar Smith and Congressman Randy Weber asked the Ministry of Finance to find out whether the Kremlin provides money for the organization of "green" against such technology.

Politico notes that it was the coaching technology that allowed the US to catch up with Russia for gas production, and rumors of Moscow's financing of the "green" have been going for several years, "despite the obvious absurdity of these statements".
