Izvestia informs that the Bank of Russia issued a draft directive to the Central Bank that will expand the terms for obtaining direct compensation for damages (LTS) in the event of an accident, canceling the restriction on the number of vehicles that have become participants in the collision.

It is reported that the document should enter into force at the end of September 2017. However, Russian car owners are confident that this is another maneuver of insurers in the auction for the liberalization of tariffs for compulsory motor third party liability insurance (OSAGO).

It is noted that to date the car owner can apply to his insurance for compensation for damage after the accident in the following case:

if the road accident participants are two, they are all insured under OSAGO and except for vehicles in the accident no one was injured.

The regulator intends to cancel the first restriction, expanding the number of participants in the accident.

Experts believe that innovation can significantly complicate the life of insurance companies, which in turn will become a motivation for the liberalization of tariffs for compulsory motor TPL insurance, which necessarily entails a jump in prices for policies of "autocitizen".
