"RT in Russian" informs that the State Duma adopted in the third reading a bill that toughens the criminal responsibility for the incitement to suicide, including minors.

It is specified that now for inducing suicide or assisting in committing suicide, the draft law provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of five to ten years.

In addition, the document establishes an increased responsibility - from eight to 15 years of imprisonment - for inducing suicide and facilitating it, resulting in the death of two or more minors, either knowingly helpless or dependent on the perpetrator or a pregnant woman.

Russian leader Vladimir Putin previously signed a law on additional mechanisms to counteract activities aimed at inducing children to commit suicide.
