Rossiyskaya Gazeta writes that one of the topics of the Russian President Vladimir Putin's meeting with the Cabinet of Ministers was the rise in prices of products. Minister of Agriculture Alexander Tkachev commented to the head of state on a sharp surge in vegetable prices in June.

The Minister explained the rise in price due to cold weather in June. Tkachev promised: "By August - September, prices for vegetables will be significantly lower".

In the Ministry of Agriculture henceforth, it was recommended to build vegetable stores to contain price jumps. As the minister noted, they "would have allowed to consume domestic produce before their own summer harvest".

As previously reported, inflation in Russia accelerated in June due to prices for fruit and vegetable products. According to Rosstat, inflation in June was 0.6% after 0.4% in May, and in annual terms it was at the level of 4.4%.
