CNN reports that US Deputy Assistant US President Sebastian Gorka stated that if Russia demonstrates "honest intentions" in the Syrian settlement, then perhaps the US administration will consider in a positive light the issue of lifting the arrest from Russian diplomatic property.
Gorka stressed: "We want to give a chance for interaction and cooperation". He added that "the fact is that Russia and the United States probably do not share the same philosophy, the same view of the world, but there are a number of themes that cause mutual concern".
The deputy assistant to the American president also noted that Russian-American relations should be better. "Let's see if this is possible," continued Gorka.
He said that "if the administration can consider honest intentions in the Kremlin's actions in such matters as the ceasefire in Syria, then perhaps there is a chance that US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson will want this to happen," meaning the lifting of the arrest From the Russian diplomatic. Gorka stressed: "This will be an improvement in relations between the two capitals".
"Rossiyskaya Gazeta" recalls that we are talking about two diplomatic dachas in the states of New York and Maryland. They were closed at the end of last year by the Obama administration - in the framework of sanctions against Moscow. Russian diplomats had to leave home.
