Izvestia reports that the director of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), Michael Pompeo, said that Russia and Wikileaks are trying to undermine Western democracy.
He expressed the view that Wikileaks' unmasking organization is an intelligence structure that is hostile to the United States.
Pompeo said that the CIA is constantly confronted with attempts to destroy and "dilute" democracy, and the threat is borne by the Russian Federation and Wikileaks.
The CIA director concluded: "Threats are in groups like Wikileaks, a non-state enemy intelligence service that recruits spies, rewards people who steal legitimate secrets, and uses this information to undermine Western democracies. And this, of course, includes the Russian government, which has long been the main figure in the world, practicing active measures. This continues for decades ".
