The Russian capital received the maximum number of points in the "Quality Index of the urban environment," Izvestia writes. It is reported that Moscow scored 73% of the maximum possible number of points and thus became the only Russian city with a million population, whose state is estimated as good (above 70%).
It is noted that the index was prepared by KB Strelka in the framework of joint work with AHML. It is specified that monitoring of urban environment quality was carried out in 90 settlements of Russia - from the smallest to the million population. To assess the cities, Strelka used data from geoinformation systems, satellite imagery, satellite navigation systems and content from social networks.
The least comfortable urban environment was in Volgograd. In total, the city scored 32% and showed low results for all items of the index.
