The representative of the president of the Russian Federation (sherpa) in the Group of Twenty, Svetlana Lukash, said that the German chairmanship at the G20 summit in Hamburg managed to make substantial progress in discussing practical aspects and common approaches to regulating the new digital economy, as well as what consequences it can bring for All countries.
At a briefing on the results of the G20 summit, Lukash said: "I can not but note the topics that appeared relatively recently in the G20 format, it was introduced by the Chinese Chairmanship. We are talking about the new digital economy, the industrial revolution, which is now transforming global markets, how to promote exactly the innovative growth of the economy ".
She said that "this year the German Presidency has managed to make substantial progress in discussing technical and, rather, such practical aspects: how to evaluate the digital economy, what consequences it can bring for all our countries and how to agree on common approaches to interaction and Regulation in this sphere ".
Lukash added that Russia also appreciates the opportunity to agree on the topic of providing security in the Internet.
The Russian sherpa noted: "The other side of the medal for regulating the digital economy, which is also extremely important for Russia, is the topic of ensuring and protecting the rights of consumers in this area, providing digital literacy as a key element in the ability of consumers to protect their interests and provide competition in the digital environment".
