The Armistice Agreement in the south-west of Syria, concluded by Russia, the United States and Jordan, comes into force at 12:00 on the time of Damascus. "RIA Novosti" reports that the assistant to the US President for National Security Herbert McMaster said that the White House is encouraged by the progress that was made at the G20 summit in Hamburg.

As it is expected in Washington, the zone of de-escalation created in the region will eventually allow to settle the conflict on the whole territory of the Arab Republic.

The adviser to the American president said: "Such zones are a priority for the United States, and we are encouraged by the progress achieved in drafting the current agreement".

McMaster also added that the president discussed the agreement with the leaders of Turkey, Germany and Great Britain.

As reported, last Friday, on July 7 the agreement was commented by the State Department: "The idea of ??a ceasefire and a freeze on the conflict - neither side uses it for profit.

The idea is to freeze positions, freeze forces, stop violence ... ". At the same time, Russia, the United States and Jordan will use their influence on the relevant parties of the Syrian conflict.

As it became known, Syria was one of the topics of the first talks between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his American counterpart Donald Trump, which took place on the margins of the G20 summit in Hamburg. The meeting of politicians lasted more than two hours instead of the planned half hour.
