In an interview with AP, the head of Kaspersky Lab, Eugene Kaspersky, said the company is ready to provide the American authorities with the source code for the programs it develops. He said: "I will do everything possible to prove that we are not acting maliciously". Kaspersky added that he is ready to speak at a hearing before legislators in the US Congress to dispel the authorities' doubts about the company's activities.
The head of Kaspersky Lab also confirmed that the FBI staff interviewed employees in the US. He said that he does not know what exactly the department was interested in, because now "ties with the FBI are completely lost". Eugene Kaspersky explained: "This means that if there is a serious crime, because of which Russian law enforcement bodies need to be coordinated with the FBI, then, unfortunately, this is impossible".
The head of Kaspersky Lab said that the company includes former employees of Russian intelligence services, but the internal network structure in the company would not allow it to be used in its own interests. He stressed: "It is almost impossible. Because to do this, we need not one person in the company, but a group that has access to various elements of our technological process. It's too complicated. ".
As reported, US senators have previously stated that the use of Kaspersky Lab's software in government agencies can be a threat to national security because of the company's connection with the Kremlin. The company called the charges false and unfounded.
