Director of the political department of the Ukrainian department Alexei Makeev told reporters on June 30 that the work on the introduction of a visa regime or other options for restrictions on the entry of Russian citizens to Ukraine was initiated by the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, Regnum reports..

As Makeev said, Kiev is working on a variant of the entry of Russian citizens to Ukraine on biometric passports. Representatives of civil society and experts were involved in the work already carried out by the Ministry,.

He explained: "The decision on this issue has not yet been made, and we have many tools, each of them has the right to the future".

The Ukrainian representative specified that restrictions can be introduced for a number of categories of Russian citizens, and which segment will fall into this category will be resolved taking into account the data of special services.

It is noted that one of the options is the visa regime.

Makeyev mentioned that the option of a complete ban is envisaged: "In the end, an absolute ban can be imposed if such a need is from the point of view of national security".

As previously reported, that Ukraine is considering the introduction of a visa regime with Russia on biometric passports. On June 24, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of the National Security Council of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov. He explained this need to protect the borders.
