PRIME informs that Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree, from which it follows that the Russian Federation has extended retaliatory measures on the sanctions of Western countries until December 31, 2018.
The government was instructed to ensure measures to implement the decree, if necessary, make proposals to change the validity period of sanctions.
The document says:
"To extend from January 1 to December 31, 2018, the response of special economic measures envisaged by the decree of the President of the Russian Federation of August 6, 2014 No. 560" On the application of certain special economic measures to ensure the security of the Russian Federation "and extended by presidential decrees ".
It is noted that the decree comes into force from the date of signing.
As reported, on Wednesday, June 28, the Council of the EU adopted an official decision to extend for half a year economic restrictive measures against the Russian Federation, effective until the end of July 2017.
