RIA Novosti reports that Vietnamese President Chiang Dai Kuang admitted that he has seen many successes of Russia lately: the country is developing, despite the EU sanctions against it.

On Thursday, Russian President Vladimir Putin met with the head of Vietnam, Chiang Dai Kuang.

Kuang said that he visited Russia not for the first time, but this is the first visit to the post of president. He said: "I have recently seen many successes in Russia. I want to congratulate you on these successes, because Russia is developing, despite all the difficulties, the challenges and sanctions. You are developing your economy, we are happy for you and we want to once again congratulate ".

The President noted:

"The people of Vietnam are happy with your achievements, and we consider this our success as well".

Yesterday, on June 29, the EU Council, on a written procedure not involving meetings, adopted a formal decision to extend for six months economic restrictive measures against the Russian Federation, effective until the end of July 2017. Thus, the Council consolidated the political decision taken by the leaders of the EU member states at the summit on June 22.
